Mars

Mars started out more than a 100 years ago in a small kitchen in the township of Tacoma, Washington in the USA. A young man named Frank C. Mars began his first steps in preparing recipes for chocolate confectionery. Later, Frank’s son, Forest, founded the Mars company and turned it into the successful company that we know today.

Today Mars is active in more than 78 countries worldwide and employs some 80,000 people. Despite its size, Mars is still a private company owned by the Mars family, which operates according to five principles that are the heart of the business – Mars is committed to Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom in all its enterprises.

Today Mars is much more that a chocolate company. It has 6 segments: pet food, Wrigley chewing gum and confectionery, food products, drinks and scientific research.
